This butterfly knife model is one of the best entry-level "live blade" balisong knives that we carry. Sporting a clip-point blade with blood groove, the slim build of this bali song butterfly knife delivers nice action in an attractive package. Featuring textured inserts to provide a solid grip, the stainless steel handles are decorated with skeletonized cutouts that make this knife very light in weight, but at the same time extremely sturdy and durable. A metal safety latch is included to lock the blade into place when it is not in use as well as when it is deployed.

The world of balisong knives is a lot of fun, but they are a little bit different from traditional pocket knives. Some are held together with rivets, instead of screws. Those don't require any maintenance but are a lot tougher to tune. We highly recommend owning a torx screwdriver set if you're getting into balisongs that have torx screw pivots. The pivots move a lot, and all of them will loosen up over time. The maintenance you will have perform is the same, whether it is a budget-friendly $30 butterfly knife, or a higher-end $300 butterfly knife. If you wish to remove the safety latch pin on this balisong knife, you will simply need a T6 torx screwdriver. The pivot screws are a T9. Some of the options above include screwdriver sets. In order to remove the latch, you simply have to remove 3 of the T6 handle scale screws on one side first. Once you twist the handle scale away, you will be able to access the last T6 handle frame screw, and then slide off the latch pin. Check out the video of Todd demonstrating it here!

Once properly Loctited, It's the best balisong under $80, it flips well, and its perfect for beginners.

Pretty good

When I first broke the knife in, it got really loose. After taking it all the way apart, cleaning it, and using threadlocker it works out pretty well. Sharp blade and a blast to flip.
